Listen to Caro & El Club Vigil and you will hear long forgotten Rio de la Plata tango nostalgia, traditional milonga beats
and the sentimental yet hopeful melancholy you only find in dark, cold Nordic countries close to the polar circle. Caro &
El Club Vigil started out as vocalist Caro and guitarist Julian Vigil met, and realized they not only shared the same
historical background but also the same musical influences.
Both born in Stockholm, Sweden, Caro and Julian were brought up with a mix of tango, milonga and chacarera and classic
tunes from The Beatles, Bob Dylan and Edith Piaf – right in the middle of a city known for its harsh climate and long dark
winters; the capital of Sweden, Stockholm. With lyrics breathing poetic question marks to the big mysteries in life, Caro & El
Club Vigil therefore presents a new musical landscape from deep within the Latin folk tradition, combining the forgotten
golden years of a pre-WW I South America, with the endless, lonely, barren woods of Scandinavia.
